Here’s an update on my self portrait, “Pain” 9 x 12 on Strathmore 300 Bristol Smooth paper. Slow and steady!! I’m still not using any blending tools, I’m just layering my graphite by making tiny overlapping circular motions. It’s a tedious process but it’s a great exercise in patience and control (especially since I have no patience ??). I added tone and some texture to my face. I also added some stubble using a mono zero eraser and did some negative drawing. More to come soon!

ITS LOOKING GREAT RICK. YOU HAVE SO MUCH PATIENCE!!! TO DO WHAT YOU DO IS AMAZING. I NEED TO GET SOMETHING DONE AS MY PATIENCE HAS A GREAT LAPS. I NEED TO SLOW DOWN. KEEP UP YOUR WONDERFUL WORK.
