Now public, the park once was private property of a wealthy Senator in Hamburg. It was a rainy day as one can see.

what comes to mind is in the fall when the leaves of some trees choose to turn a brilliant gold and even in the darkest, coldest, most miserable of days still manages to shine golden light upon the scene. love the contrast with the rich tones of the trunk against the delicate shimmer of the leaves.
What a lovely mood this sets and beutiful color and work!

I am a colored pencil artist and have been trying to think beyond the still objects and would love to learn to draw scernery. My grandmother was a painter (she painted scenery) and I want to be able to capture the realism that you have with colored pencils in my drawings. I have practiced some with wildlife and have had success. You have done aremarkable job and I hope to be able to create such beautiful images in the future. Thanks for sharing your gift with the world.

I think you should make the shadow under the tree much more dark! it will catapult the tree too the front and create some space in your drawing .
Peter how do you get such colors???? I am trying to learn colored pencils and right now they look like crayon kindergarten images. Thanks for the inspiration... Cyndi in Alabama USA
Wonderful coloured pencil work !
For me, autumn is another world of beauty in itself. I love hiking and watching trees change colours ! Beautifully done !
this piece is so beautiful! It fills me with complete stillness and joy. color , depth and composition are amazing. I wish I could jump right into the piece.
Peter, you are unbelieveable. I can feel the cool damp mist. The colors are mysical. I would love to sit underthat tree and write a poem, pray, meditate, or read. With a sweater and a thermos of hot coffee. Splendid, mon amie.
WOW!! There are alot of comments here. All of them deserving. Peter, i love this piece. The transition of color, the darkness of the tree, making it stand out like some force of nature. And fall is my favorite season.
And thank you for your comments, perspective is very good, color tone is well balanced, subject matter is interesting and well thought out, this is my last day on the net,I will return by the end of May 04.
