Olga, you should email this to "Feed The Children Foundation". The sad reality is, some people do not believe this condition exists in this severity...

The image is a great and terrible example of starvation. If we could only donate money to resolve the starvation it would be wonderful. However with corrupt political regimes that purposely starve their own people or at best only feed their soldiers with the donated money and food. The problem is more complex than just giving the money. We need to find some way to give the downtrodden a voice in their own countries. This is a tough job to accomplish.
Artist Reply: dear anonymous guest... thank you so much for your input and great inside...
Good portrait and fine cause. There is no peace without justice, to paraphrase many philosophers. Art can not exist in a vacuum and artists can not be indifferent to the suffering around them.
Amen Olga, my sentiments exactly. Beautiful piece, just beautiful. I have a child in Zambia I sponser through Christian Childrens Fund. We all can do something!!!
Very important message Olga, very touching powerful painting ,children shouldn't be suffering in anyway with all the wealth about but unfortunately it is used in the wrong places!!!
Fine words Olga & politicians have the power to end all hunger & all wars. Sadly though there's not enough profit to make it worth while. Your painting is perfect as ever & used to promote the plight of hungry children adds huge weight to their cause. XX
Evocative, profound. Excellent image to stir up the needed awareness and encourage participation in the relief efforts children especially so need. God bless you in your efforts~
This is a very touching and poignant piece that communicates a critical
message about our priorities. Your painting is a bold reminder of the very sad situation that affects vulnerable children and is so beautifully expressed by the poet Paul Stookey.
wow, talk about deep..it almost makes me cry to think of it, but its so true, excellent job with the oil paints..i cnat get them to work for me that well but that why i'm gonna takes classes next semester, anywho awesome painting, i love it!
Good comment on the real situation over honger en je aandacht die je er aan geeft ; het is vaak moeilijk te rijmen hoe de welvaart wordt verdeeld. Je werk is tekenend en treffend !
Grate panting Olga I feel the pain the trouble is we all gave to support there grand parents and parents and now we will support them and when they grow up we will support there children I had to learn to work and raise and support and feed my famerly now you ask thet we support the world ?
Well done Olga, I think it is criminal and an insult to the voters, that we have to listen to all this crap every day and see them waste all that money. Let them take a leaf from the practice of the Europeans, who aren't perfect, but a whole lot better than the Americans in their political practice.
So true!!! I do so hope that more people will click the link to donate to Save the Children on AW mainpage too!! Thank you for sharing these wonderful painting and words with us, Olga!
Olga, This is totally brilliant...It is absolutely wonderful and a perfect message for the plight of those in need. I am in awe of you and your message...

Beautiful work and how can anyone argue with the sentiment!
its a beautiful portrait and generates strong emotion. I have worked all my life in health education and I know what malnutrition does to a child. Kwahiorkor the blotted belly and Marasmus, the old man syndrome.
Olga, You have done a wonderous service to the children of our world with this painting. You should submit it to some of the fine organizations who are trying to end world hunger.
Wonderful skillful work, Olga! And yes, I also was amazed how much was spent on the elections...But just imagine that much more goes to the military purposes. Why don't people just live without wars. There are so many problems in this World where money and energy is needed.
This is a great portrait, Olga, and a wonderful gesture. It breaks my heart to know that so many children in the world go to bed hungry every night. I pray that your effort here will encourage many people to donate to help the world's hungry children.
