I am a photographer and paint mostly in acrylics, but still do some oils. Acrylics dry so quickly and glazing is easier. Oils take so long to dry, and its really the surface that dries and the inner core stays flexible. Oils have more depth in my opinion, but acrylics will retain their color without darkening over a long time like oils. I seem to favor animals and nature and collages with natural things I pick up. I like to feel a connection with the subject. Long after I'm gone, hopefully my artwork will live on, sort of my signature of having lived on this earth.
