what I love about being an artist is taking nothing and turning it into something. Here is a very small update on my self portrait “Pain” 9 x 12 graphite on 300 Bristol Smooth paper. I’ve moved up a bit on my eyebrow. I’m now adding detail as I observe the hills and valleys of the skin. I’m using Pentel P205 mechanical pencils with Pentel 4H, 2H, and H Hi-Polymer graphite to create those hills and valleys by layering my graphite (still making tiny overlapping circular motions with my pencil) as I look for the tiniest highlights to add to the realism.
