I want the viewer to feel the power of the setting of the sun below the rich bright western horizon, and see the atmospheric glow and coloring of the sky, as the sun sets, just before it will become dark and the night will begin.
You wish it would be a never ending beauty...

I used modeling paste (Liquitex)
with a knife to build up a heavy
texture and to create the three
dimensional illusion of this
painting.
When dried I painted my view with oil paint; now it gives me the impasto look desired.
