A Woman's Dance

____________________________________

I love this 2 min. background music
which seems to give her some grace!

A WOMAN'S DANCE
(4x6 inches/10x15 cm)

".....Movement surrounded her.
The wind, clouds, grasses and birds all reminded her that nothing stands still.
She danced from the joy of all she was a part."

Coyote's Canyon by Terry Tempest Williams

I really loved playing around with these simple paleolithic kind of figures.
Normally my art evokes emotional extremes with saturated colors and lots of texture.
In this work I toned down my vibrant colors in favor of a black and white palette.
I composed a grid-like structure, and filled them in with these small B&W anthropomorphic shapes.

2nd picture
With a special program I created this presentation of an exhibit.
Just to see how this mini painting would do on a larger scale.
(Yup, that's me sketched in the 1st painting)
But watch now my painting in the back:
It looks great enlarged!
I might paint it on a large canvas!

This Small Oil, Acrylic on raw canvas is Part of a Triptych.
The triptych on raw canvas will be part of my upcoming solo show "GEMS" February 8-14, 2010
at the Academy of Lifelong Learning (University of DE)

Great to see this very large work in a gallery space. I had no idea it was that dimension. It has a lovely Matisse/Miro quality to it. There is beauty in simplicity.
