Hexaemeron©

...And then there was Light!

Hexaemeron© (Day 1) signifies a term of six days, or, technically, the history of the six days' work of creation, as contained in the first chapter of Genesis.

In the beams from the upper left Left to under Right (which separate the light from the dark) is written in Latin:

Genesis 1:
1:3. Dixitque Deus fiat lux et facta est lux

(And God said: Be light made. And light was made.)

1:4. Et vidit Deus lucem quod esset bona et divisit lucem ac tenebras
(And God saw the light that it was good; and he divided the light from the darkness.)

1:5. Appellavitque lucem diem et tenebras noctem factumque est vespere et mane dies unus.
(And he called the light Day, and the darkness Night; and there was evening and morning one day)

---I think this is a beautiful text---

Just today I pulled up a blank file (what Adobe elements calls a canvas or painting surface) , and wondered how to render time. My blank canvas led to my blank mind. So I decided to see what my pals were doing at art wanted , your profound piece was the first art work my browser found. I love the description, subject, and of course the application of media of your “Hexaemeron”. It all works. Lovely art work , and congrats on the sell!

Prachtige verfijning in de structuren en een even fraai kleurgebruik, maken je schilderij tot een fantastische verassing voor het oog en de geest waar het in reist.

Olga: I haven't had much time to explore all that is here at Art Wanted, been very busy at my gallery, but I just want you to know that I am catching up on the artists that I admire and you are one of them. This is another fine work deserving of high praise. Continued success!!

Fanatastic work, I love your style and the use of colours in your paintings, I will be looking forward to seeing more of your paintings.

Gwen Lewis 14 Apr 2007

Very striking piece. It's difficult to term this as abstract when the message is so clear and, how else could one portray the creation other than by impressionism; of necessity everyone's idea of the event must be different, your vision is both valid and exiting.

there is a kind of haunting truth to this piece yet very beautiful , you have this unique way of using shape and color to create images that are surreal, dreamy yet truthful and intense and compelling sometimes in the same image ( example your nyc oil ) , very original approach to this piece. Ilike this one a lot !!!!!!!!!! and alos hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and a joyous New Year from my house to yours.

Hello Dear Olga! I find this piece very interesting and beautifully done. Amazing text to go with it! Quite impressive and the colors rich and meaningful...I love it. the breaking of the light and lines, shiitng of colors is very moving and dynamic. One of your best works, I think, but then I am probably partial to the scriptures you have included. Still even apart from that, it is a wonderful work...a miracle of the mind, so to speak. Tthank you very much for looking at my work and your thoughts. I am pleased to know you and call you friend and Sister!!! I hope this season brings you much success and love. Your spirit and entusiasm is a healing balm. Take care and know that you are ever in my heart...Love CB

Tahnja Wolter 28 Oct 2006

I really, really appreciate this one Olga! Actually, you've helped bring new insight today to a dream I had of a bolt of lightening that hit a factory on a hilltop where I watched it happen from a house that was then severely damaged from the force of the lightening. So 'lightening', could realte to 'Light' and may signify, Let there be light in the world. Thank you so much for your help! You paint from sincere inspiration and that's what I now realize that I like so much about your work.
