Original Post: ArtWanted.com 2016 Year in Review

2016 was a huge year for ArtWanted! We wanted to create a post and highlight some of the big changes that happened in 2016 for all to read.

First off, we want to thank all of our members for their involvement in ArtWanted over the last year. We know that we made some big changes to the website this year and change is hard for everyone to get used to. You stuck with it, continued to upload art and participated on the site. Thanks for your feedback, suggestions and patience while we worked to improve the site.

New Website Design

The biggest change to ArtWanted this year was the complete redesign of the public website in June. Every page on the ArtWanted.com public site was rebuilt from the ground up with a new look and feel. It was important for us to not only update the design of ArtWanted.com, but also make every page look good on a mobile phone/tablet, as more and more people use their mobile devices to surf the web. We have received a ton of positive feedback on the site redesign and the changes we made.

New Premium Website Product

In October, we introduced a whole new type of membership upgrade for artists that wanted their own personal website. Many of our members have already signed up for the new Premium Websites and we will continue to enhance these websites in 2017.

• Portfolio Slideshows – Improved way to view your portfolio through an interactive slideshow. (Aug)
• ArtWanted Artwork Widget – The widget allows you to showcase your portfolio images on another website. (Aug)
• Premium Featured Images – Upgrades to the portfolio of our Premium Members (Aug)
• Member Activity Rewards – Get rewarded for your activity in the ArtWanted Community (Sept)
• Message Board Upgrades – Multiple changes to the message boards. (Sept)
• New Multiple File Uploader – Upload dozens of images to your portfolio with a simple drag and drop action. (Nov)
• E-mail Uploads – Add images to your portfolio with a simple e-mail to [email protected] (Nov)
• Support Ticket Attachments – Upload files to your support tickets for improved communication. (Nov)
• Visual Art Watch E-Mails – Thumbnail previews, latest news and more change to this daily email of the artists you follow. (Nov)
• Premium Private Gallery Upgrades – Bulk uploading, renaming and improved management of private galleries. (Dec)
• Project Images – Upload multiple supporting images to any portfolio image. (Dec)

What’s Coming in 2017?

We have many new features and upgrades already planned for 2017. One of the biggest upgrades you can look forward to is a complete redesign of our Members Area Control Panel. Not only will we be updating the design of our control panel where you manage your portfolio, but we will be making it much easier to use and adding a whole new help section. We encourage all members to continue to give us feedback and suggestions on how we can improve ArtWanted for everyone. Many of the changes that happened this year were a direct result of feedback from our members. Keep it coming!
