During a walk in my small mountain town last December, I was struck by the warmth of the lights from the homes and porches on a nearby street causing me to even forget the cold for a bit. Hurrying back home, I commenced this nightscene right away using a panel that had been prepared for a different painting. Losing track of time I had the basic work down in one long session with detail giving way to mood.
