I have to ask Frank, what is a currach? this is wonderful with the children's poses very realistic and such great colors as always, bright and working well together.
A lovely painting Frank with lots of atmosphere. I like the way the children are standing there solemnly looking on as their father digs the grave for the little black and white body lying on the grass. The child holding the cross with their pet's name on it is delightfully poignant touch. The other animals all sit round observing respectfully. Even the pig looks tearful! Love it!
Artist Reply: The little dog figure to the right of the man digging is meant to be the ghost of the dead dog, but nobody has ever particularly liked this picture either. Dont it make you sad?
