This, of course, is a play on 'red sky at sunset.' A red sky at sunset means high pressure is moving in from the west, so therefore the next day will usually be dry and pleasant. When I was around 12, our family went vacationing in Langley, Arkansas. The Little Missouri River flowed through the place which made it a perfect place for swimming and lying about on personal flotation devices. I remember a young girl sauntering up to me and asking me if I wore lipstick. This was right out of the blue as I'd never seen her before. If you want to embarrass a 12-year old boy, I can't imagine a better thing to say to him. Never before or since has anyone asked me anything about my lips. Was this an inept attempt at flirtation? After nearly 60 years, it's much too late to ask her. This is a 6 by 4.5 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing on medium bond acid-free paper. This is another personal bit of Original Jones Art coming from an old guy with a 12-year old still trapped inside here in northwest Austin, Texas.

You could have told her you just ate a bunch of pistachios : ) Seems like an antagonizing thing to say but perhaps she really meant it .... kids can be brutally honest at times . Either way great work as always Charles : )

Hey Charley, those Lips seem to perk this guy up. Super

Artist Reply: Thanks, Denny! He reminds me a little of a friend of my son's whom I haven't seen in years. Anyway, since I'm a stream-of-consciousness type, I thought a little background story might be informative and/or entertaining. Hope all is good is Gourdsville. :)
