This has dimension on so many levels; because I love writing short stories, this looks like the beginning of a great ghost story out of the 19th century. It's a powerful photo piece, Sharon.
I too am in love with this building....better hope there are no strong wind in the forecast as it looks like it is fragile....
but suspect that just the opposite is true.

Truly impressive, There was love there and maybe a large family warmed from the cold and the rain, on a very nice plot of land For how long? why did they go? But the now lone structure stands and awaits more humans to love?
I'm guessing in the winter time one would really have to bundle up if they lived there. I love old houses like this and the trees have a character all their own.
I appears as if it was a combination house/barn/corn crib/corral!!! Maybe even a smokehouse too! Very utilitarian. I imagine the chinking dried up and fell out from between the wood siding. Delightful!
very neat shots; it looks very much like old barns in East Texas but there is the chimney so probably served different purposes over the many years; great to document our history
