Artist Reply: Thank you! This site is not far from an active volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is called Lava Tree Park. When Kilauea ruptured the lava covered the trees leaving ghost like figures in its stead. It is a awesome place to visit as one suspects the wrath of Pele might one day strike again.

Thank you Paul. This painting was part of a series, all Hawaiian. I am hoping you will stop by again and see the rest as well as my other series.
I just posted a comment about your brilliant "Woman i" a great piece.
Brilliant use of color and movement. The composition is extraordinary!
Artist Reply: http://www.artistwatch.blogspot.com tells where this is and how it was painted. It also has pics of the model, the reception for my One Woman Show, "ke ala o Pele". This was painted at Lava Tree Park on the Big Island of Hawaii. Pele is the goddess of the volcano Kilauea.
