Patri-idi-otic

I thought I would share a color pencil drawing of mine from 1979. It probably has been seen by a total of three people until now. It's approximately 12 by 9 inches in size. Original Jones Art from Austin, Texas.

Charles, this is so Amazing, it looks like it would have taken a very long time to compete it. You have a wonderful imagination. Your original art is wonderful.

Artist Reply: Young 20-something brains are more fluid than older ones, I think, Scott. I used to doodle drawings like this into existence in 'the old days.' I believe I began with that eye nearest the flag and worked out from there. Luckily, I was home and had some color pencils at hand. Most of my earlier drawing were black and white. Thanks so much for the nice comment. :)

So Notable even a a glance, So Beyond Modern & Sometimes So Strange! I believe You have great Courage and Curiosity to compose these with a Clear Vision into Other states of Consciousness!

This is great, so much detail, excellent !!

Artist Reply: Thanks, Allison. I look at this and think, "Who were you when you did this?" And then I retrace the time-line and laugh. I was the same insecure little creature I am now. (I like your work too.)

Great abstract & it's still very relevant at this time!

Monika Moore 14 Apr 2007

Sad part is that it's timeless. ~M

Artist Reply: I was younger then, my hair thicker and a different color, my attitude more optimistic but like a pebble in the stream, I am slowly being worn away by so much redundancy. Thanks, Monica.

Charles, Thank you for sharing this one with all of us at AW. This is Fabulous!!!!

Artist Reply: Thank you very much. Up to now I've been uploading only current work but thought some vintage work might give viewers a sense, perhaps, of progression over time.
