Excellent Portrait Work!A Great Likeness!

Fantastic work, Ana! I do understand the problems inherent in working from very small reference as I once was commissioned to do a large posthumous portrait from a 1"x1.5"wallet-size school photo! I lived with the magnifying glass for quite a while!

Wonderful Ana.. your family will grow to appreciate your skill as your rescue these old photos.... my wife lost her brother in a car wreck many years ago. The family did not have a good photo of him... so I took the one they had and did a large pencil sketch from a 2 inch photo as a surprise gift. Cathy came home from her trip and was in tears when she saw what I had done... these are certainly worth the effort to restore.

At first glance, it does appear a bit "tweaked" to the left, but it is absolutely right on according to the reference photo. More of his hair is showing on the left, and I believe that is why it appears offset, but all in all, Ana, it is a fabulous portrait! And I'm sure Laura is thrilled with it too.

Artist Reply: Thanks Corry, yes, I see the family resemblence too, but it is hard to tell when they are babies. Laura is around my age and I have known her for about a year now. I think she looks a lot like her dad. Her dad is no longer with us.
