Yes, this does seem a down to earth marilyn not like most people putting her on a pedal stool, this has it's own ranks of being great.

Maria hedblom 22 Feb 2006

Its awesome and a little strange. Is it really Marilyn? No cant be. right?

mark jorgenson 12 Feb 2006

Thank you Jeff, this is a wonderful picture of Marilyn, and I think the best by far. I think it shows the true beauty within her and the tormented soul that she was. It makes me want to hug her, but it's far too late. So I will send my Hugs! to you instead. My thoughts will be with you on her birthday.

Laura Smith 28 Jan 2006

this is a very moving portrait and I am so glad you shared this with us! there is something expressed in this that makes me feel like there is a reason why it was uncovered now-there seems to be a longing and a certainty in her gaze that really communicates that things may change and time will pass but what is in our hearts will never die-thank you so much for this it is an honor for me to view!

I'm honored to hear your voice Jeff.We miss Sher in ways that will surely have psychologists wondering how people on the net can miss each other...without actually knowing each other. She was the most professional artist,in mannerisms, and presentation, that I've ever met.She was always a Lady of such an admirable air.I hope you are ready,in the coming months,to see even more tributes to Sher. For some of us,the world of art became so much more, because of her. Thanks for understanding that art is so important...and that we are still her knights.I wish your Family well.

Artist Reply: Thank You Tim... Great words for a great lady... It might be my words now but it remains Sher's art. Phychologists, I hope understand that the art of truely great artists come from within. When viewing art you are truely viewing the inner most of the artist soul. This even I understand, as I think you all do too. Art was a great part of Sher's life and the artists who created it, for in your art and Sher's you traveled the world, climbed the highest mountains, touched your fingers in the bluest waters and rode the current of emotions. For many art is not so important... it is life itself frozen as a snapshot in time. Yes, I am ready to see even more and I am honnored as I am sure my wife would be... Ride on Tim... Jeff

What a wonderful way to keep Sher's memory alive. What talent!

Artist Reply: Thank You All Again. This is Marlyn Monroe before Hollywood. Sher saw her inner "Natural Beauty" so much like Sher herself. Sher did this in the Fall of 1979, from the first time she picked up a pencil magic happened. Yes Andree we got the e-card thank you for that. I also want to thank you all for keeping the Sher Daily Picks going. This was Sher's way of going against the system to bring new and special artists with promising tallent or old masters to light who she felt had gone without recognition... Jeff

Andree Lerat 26 Jan 2006

Thank you so much Jeff for posting this beautiful drawing. My thoughts were with you over the holidays. Sent you an ecard but don't think you've received. Hope you and your family are doing well, or as well as can be expected. Hugs, Andree
