Ok,,,maybe I should correct myself ,,,not all magnolia Blossoms are of a pungent spice smell,there are so many varieties out there,it's amazing some in fact smell like lemon,some very sweet,some Spicy,,but the ones we have incountered are of a musty fragrance,,,yes I've been in some areas that Infact have a somewhat Fruity smell,, I hope I've clearified it better.
One of the amazing Spectacular Flowers,absolutely beautiful ,absolutely gorgeous,,they are an Art of beauty in nature,Huge Blossoms ,beautifully coloured ,everything so so perfect. BUT ,I could never figure out why the aroma is a PUNGENT smell,no fragrance,no perfume,only the smell of something like Mushrooms,,,,,,oh yes,,,,next time really go up to a blosom & you'll see for yourself,,it's not a flower you would want in your home...But the Beauty is overwhelming
