The best-loved tradition among kids during Spanish Christmas is Los Tres Reyes Magos :the Three Wise Men of the East who rode into the West, through the dusk of the night, over hill and dell. One of the most evocative tales in the Bible is that of the journey made by the wise men -Melchor, Gaspar or Baltasar- to Bethlehem. These Three Kings are the ones who followed a star to meet Baby Jesus, and offered him three presents: gold, frankincense and myrrh to the newborn child in Belén (Bethelem).Today, the Three Kings and the Star are celebrated in Christmas carols, on greeting cards, and with front-yard light displays. It's a beautiful painting my friend with the star in the left upper corner. ~Love and Light, OLGA
