Heat Wave ~ Acrylic on Canvas, 30"x40", 2013. This painting is called Heat Wave as the blazing colors illustrate the longer days filled with wild flowers, bonfires, and hot rays of sunshine. The waves of sweltering heat take a stroll down the blistering sidewalks as doses of Vitamin D are generously distributed.

I would like, with your permission, to enter this piece of art, which is entitled, "Cape Florida Lighthouse," c. 2008, into the "Summer Art Contest! I created it on an 16" x 20" canvas with acrylic paint and in my own style. It is a lovely lighthouse to view as you move closer to it's location and I wanted to capture the array of colors surrounding it in the summer of 2008, including boats, floral setting, beach, water, blue sky with a smattering of clouds and more. I know that the Cape Florida Lighthouse has a long history of keeping ships and all kinds of boats safe from harm since 1825. It is 95' tall and has 109 steps.
