Lost and Found

About two/thirds of the way up the mountain to Henskin Lake we encountered snow....LOTS of it. I knew the general direction, but we zigged and zagged thru the forest, trying to find hints of trail. This added a half mile of extra track to the GPS, not to mention the extra time it took to get there. (That means we will probably have to do it again for the visitrainier.com website.) It was a tremendous relief when we finally arrived at this gorgeous site. Not that we couldn't find our way back, but my husband began to question that there was a lake up there at all. His faith in me was restored...he savored the incredible beauty and the triumph of getting to our destination. I can tell you that lunch was extra-delicious as we found a nice log to sit on and soak in the sun!!! I didn't check the compass, but I think this is the east end of the lake... :-)

Oh I could use some of that cold right about now with the heat in the upper 90's and the index being 100 or above this looks very inviting but snow in July seems hard to find but in the Mt.s I guess not so far fetched cool shot nice capture
