That First Kiss

Another of my White Ground Squirrels of Dana Point Harbor series I am documenting. They are a variation of the California Brown Ground Squirrel and some what of a novelty in color. They are not albinos and I have not seen too many white versions of the Brown Squirrel. So this is a documentary of their life at Dana Point Harbor. This is the first litter of all white baby squirrels I have seen at the harbor in all the years I have walked around here.. The past couple years I had seen some mottled colorations but never all white. watching the colony you can see the transformation from the brown to the mottled coloration then to the all white in this group.. There are about 9 or 10 of the babies. If they will keep this mostly all white coloration as they grow into adults I am not sure, but assume I will find out later this year as I observe them. Stay Tune. Image copyright2010 GaryGlassPhtography GaryGlass.com
