Anglerfish Submarine

Anglerfish Submarine - one of my favourites I've painted to date (Matt's too). Some of you may have noticed my fascination with deep-sea abyssal sea creatures, as well as steampunk theming, and this painting combines them both. A beautiful violet eyed girl sits within the interior of an elaborate submarine which looks all the world like a clockwork anglerfish (lanternfish). Okay, it's kind of an odd painting, but there is something very striking and magical about it - kinda Jules Verne. Who doesn't love a steampunk submarine shaped like a giant fish? My own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
