Wapato has various names including duck potato and arrowhead. It is a wetland plant growing in bogs, marshes or in fresh water lakes such as White Rock Lake in Dallas, Texas.

Is it really a potato? It does not leaf like a tubor! Like any kind of a potato? It tends to be unique if it is a tubor or type of potato!

Artist Reply: this only shows the bloom spikes; the leaves are shaped like an arrowhead (another name) and it reportedly has tubers
