It does sort of resemble strung popcorn and the lavender berrys are good for what?

Artist Reply: in the Fall, the leaves turn bright red and the berries turn white and look like popcorn...but DO NOT PLANT...it is extremely invasive, impossible to get rid of, very caustic to handle and if cut down, will continue to sprout many new places...I found lots of complaints when I Googled it!!
