The first one of these I spotted two months ago at Lake Tawakoni was acting as a sentinel for a couple of killdeer, calling out and leading attention away from them. I read that this is typical behavior for them in a mixed flock. This yellowlegs was feeding in the shallows at Lewisville Lake, Willow Grove Park.
