Commonly known as ladybug, the Ladybird Beetle eats pests such as aphids. This one was found on White Sweetclover at Lewisville Lake.

There is a look alike If you are are ever bitten by one it is not a ladybug but an import that has taken over many farms and these also damage grapes and apples and infest farm houses in the winter worst of all they bite. and it does hurt. I think this is one of them the lady bug has larger spots. if my memory serves me right.

Artist Reply: well, thanks to your alert, I researched the bugs and this one is a ladybug...the other is an Asian beetle and is more orange; it is causing lots of problems as you said in some areas, eek!!
