Though I seldom do hard-line genre work in the fantasy arena, with this piece I found a way to adapt the mythology of the Isis/Osiris/Horus legend to my own characters, in the context of their mythology. The statuesque fella behind the goddess is one of my 'mermaliens,' seen here with ebony skin like that of a Moor, and the little falcon-like statue beside her represents their child, Horus.
