Smart gardeners utilized backyard privacy fence as a trellis for growing squash and gourds (I think). There were several of these bees making their way around the last blooms of the season. They move around even faster than bumblebees (ugh) and come to find out, they are Carpenter Bees....notice the shiny black abdomen. I learned that bumblebees have a fuzzy abdomen, like the thorax of the carpenter bee.
