James Audubon and Shadows on the Teche (2008)

James Audubon lived in the plantation home, Shadows-on-the-Teche, while he was working on his masterpiece, Birds of America. Here he is show holding paint brushes instead of the gun his portrayed as holding in his famous portrait. This is a small tribute to a remarkable man.

This is a very arresting and informative portrait. I like the way you've painted his eyes. They're so luminous and shine with intelligence and sensitivity. I particularly like the paintbrushes. One of those little master touches that brings a uniqueness to all your work. BTW, I've finally come to the last story. 'Avian Follies'. I nearly took it to Paris but resisted the temptation and saved it for my bedside reading here in Wales. (Where, yes!!! You've guessed it. It's still raining!!!! LOL!!) Peace and Love from Rusty and SimonXXXX
