I was sure this was the spot!

The American Coot, what a hoot.. those feet are just way to big. The Coot has trouble getting up into flight and will splash haphazardly along the water before getting airborn, needless to say it needs a very long takeoff path. They hang out with the Wigeons and Gadwells waiting for them to surface, stealing whatever aquatic plants they might have brought up. If they have to forage, it is usually on a lawn or fields. Artist Reply: I think thats all they do.. lol, yes they nose around in the muck and dig up plants or just steal them from the closest duck LOL Thanks Jodi!
