Bedford, Virginia is near and the people of this area have been noted to respond with disporportionate sacrifice in the nation's conflicts despite suffering a want of its economic bounty. The spirit that prompted in our present time and this current conflict, the owner of a long closed business place, to post a "Support our Troops" poster in its window comments silently to this; and the thought is echoed by the stong light and shadows across the building's facade and the rotting snow.
