Almost all cultures and at all times throughout civilization there have been references to mystical creatures that protect and guard over us. From ancient Zoaraster to Michael, the Archangel, our time is no different. There are those who believe and those who don't. I have heard it said that "there are no atheist in foxholes". I have never had the misfortune to be in a foxhole so I cannot comment about that. But I have had near death experiences and when they occurred I was found petitioning profusely to anyone who would listen. I always found it wise to err on the side of hopefulness rather than hopelessness. It always seemed to me to be the smarter of the two choices, to hope and be right than to not hope and be wrong. Well that's just me. What do I know? I'm just a foolish artist who paints scenes with colored oils. Yet, there is something deep down in my core of my being that discloses to me something that Shakespeare once said "that there is much more between heaven and earth than is in our philosophies". visionary imagist "Joey"
