Lighthouse Angel

Almost all cultures and at all times throughout civilization there have been references to mystical creatures that protect and guard over us. From ancient Zoaraster to Michael, the Archangel, our time is no different. There are those who believe and those who don't. I have heard it said that "there are no atheist in foxholes". I have never had the misfortune to be in a foxhole so I cannot comment about that. But I have had near death experiences and when they occurred I was found petitioning profusely to anyone who would listen. I always found it wise to err on the side of hopefulness rather than hopelessness. It always seemed to me to be the smarter of the two choices, to hope and be right than to not hope and be wrong. Well that's just me. What do I know? I'm just a foolish artist who paints scenes with colored oils. Yet, there is something deep down in my core of my being that discloses to me something that Shakespeare once said "that there is much more between heaven and earth than is in our philosophies". visionary imagist "Joey"

beautifully painted. I love the way the sky takes up so much space and pulls me into it. Interesting because a lighthouse is supposed to be guiding the way to the land, but this makes me want to fly out in the other direction.

Artist Reply: John: I live near a couple of lighthouses. They are attraction for tourists to see. I live right on the shore of Lake Erie and the water surrounds my home in the front and the back. thanks for sharing with me. i await your new works as well.

So very peaceful and hopeful is this wonderful painting for every "lost" soul who is willing to come home again! Clean your thoughts from the mad world and you meet the helpers, the angels , they are around us always waiting to show the way to heaven in our own heart, if we want to listen to their soft voices.

Artist Reply: Annette: I always find your profound words a source of inspiration and hope. Thank you sharing your feelings with me I do so appreciate and look forward to it. Again thanks!

Beautiful work Joey...your details are amazing. That sky is so calming. I follow your school of thought in regard to erring on the side of hopefulness. That hope makes my days here so much better.

Artist Reply: Laurie: My oil paints sometime just cry out to be used to set a certain mood. i am happy that you enjoyed seeing this little piece.
