The Swan

I live on a peninsula surrounded by water. To my north is Lake Erie and my home is the first barrier after 50 miles of open water. And to my south is a bay, which is a protected wetlands nature preserve. I am 100 feet from the bay and 175 feet from the Lake. I have been here for over 40 years. I witness first hand every year the rebirth of Mother Nature from winter's icy grip. The winters here can be brutal with strong winds, ice and snow. But each spring there is a huge multitude of birds that use my backyard as their homestead. A backyard filled with shallow waters and blossoming lotuses. And I behold nature's gentle side. What wonder there is to life. The endless cycle of womb then to tomb and all that is in between. Nothing is wasted all is used somehow. Action springing forth from non-action. The way of the Tao revealed through the auspices of Nature. I have never grown tired of this remarkable spectacle and never will. visionary imagist "Joey"
