Unsung Hero

This painting is a Grumman J2F Duck in the markings of Marine Squadron VMS-3. This squadron was based in the Virgin Islands and the Duck was used for patrol and rescue duty. My painting depicts the Duck heading out for a "Neutrality Patrol" circa 1940, prior to the entry of the United States into WWII.
