Snow Sculpture

This type of natural snow sculpting is one of the things I look for when I head to the mountains in winter. On the 13th of November I hiked up to Mt. Tsubakuro in the Japanese North Alps. It was a beautiful day and the hike was a hot one (I had short sleeves much to the surprise of other hikers wearing snow jackets). But once I reached the mountain ridge a blasting cold wind assailed me. I had to drop the tough guy image and put on a jacket and gloves. This is another camera phone photo. I shot the same composition with my 35mm camera and my 67 camera.

Beautiful! The curves are very compelling.

Artist Reply: Once, a guy said my photos were very sensual because of the curves. I don't know about that. I just loved how the wind had carved the snow. Thank you for your comment, Amanda.

Just...BEAUTIFUL!!!

Artist Reply: Just beautiful? Well, I can't blame you. Vocabulary ceases to define nature's beauty at times, doesn't it? I am just glad the person who walked there before me didn't trample any further to the right.
