A coloured child in Elim, a small township in the Cape (South Africa). Even though apatheid is over the townships remain and with them poverty. Within the coloured townships alcohol and drugs run rife. These people, being coloured are the last on the list, not being black enough and not being white enough. None of my photos are posed, I take what I see, using only the available light at hand. This photo has been desaturated in PS and had minimal curves.
