Palo Verde

I started this picture while I was exhibiting at an outdoor venue. Not much traffic, so I took out my pastels and found this tree to draw. Palo Verde trees have a green trunk and branches and are almost entirely yellow flowers in the spring. They are very common in the desert and in Arizona.
