Another of my 70's drawings. This one is dated March 1975. I was still attending the University of TX at Austin and had been working on several illustrations for a publication put out by the Humanities Dept. I had some poems published as well. This one was not used. I don't think I actually submitted it but it was drawn around the same time. Image area measuring 8.5 by 5.5 inches on sketch paper that has warmed a bit over the decades. I probably used a ballpoint pen. There are two dried droplets on the facial area but otherwise it is in good shape. Original Jones Art wishes he could say the same here in northwest Austin, Texas.

Looks different save for detail yet nice and multilayered. Every time I se my 50-year old drawings they look almost strange. Hope things are smooth on your side. \

Artist Reply: You may be on to something there, Nikolay. I'm pretty sure the 23-year-old who drew this was different from this older ramshackle version. :)

Really nice art here Charles, I hope you are doing well.

We got ourselves another Salvador Dali here;D

Artist Reply: Maybe slightly daliesque, Ray. More dream-like than my later work and borne of doodles which is how I learned to draw to begin with. I'll see if there are others worth sharing with folks. Hope you are doing great. :)

Super nice one Charles ... expressionist yet a surreal influence ... overall very cool ! : )

Artist Reply: The 'Flying Mysteries' are uniquely my own, Dave. I had a mind to present an alternative universe populated by derivations of unobservable observation. I still call what I see walking about humanoids as many of them appear to be poorly developed imitations. Uh, and they haven't improved over my lifetime, either. Thanks! I hope you are doing better than okay in Chicago. :) Uh, still no rain here.
