Don't get stuck 'in the bog of rules' of anything an old professor admonished one day long ago while we were at a local German biergarten here in Austin. He told me a lot of stuff that went in one ear and slid out the other but this one stuck. Now the sad thing is most of us can't break free of the rules, can't even see around them and certainly don't have the courage to go against the norm and into uncharted territory. The question is how accurate is the old expression 'better safe than sorry?' Now if I were playing gin rummy which I don't because I've always abhorred card games or other such time killers, I'd probably stick to the 'rules of the game.' Art has never had any clear cut rules or we could all just follow them and create 'great' art. A lot of folks have the technique down but don't add anything of themselves into the mix. This is an 8.5 by 5.5 inches gel pen drawing with color pencil. Has Original Jones Art added just a little too much self, broken too many of the rules of engagement? Well, that's anyone's guess here in northwest Austin, Texas. All he says when I ask him is, "You talking to me?" It's only then that he realizes he's talking to himself again.

I don't have any rules and I believe art doesn't either have any rules,

Awesome! Both the art and the comments under the image.
