Great scene and contrast between the smooth-looking waxwing and the wrinkled berries!

Artist Reply: Thank you for this wonderful, detailed compliment. I So love to find scenes with multiple textures and colors to really bring Life to life. It is amazing how many spectacular wonderful things we can find hidden in even the tiniest details of life if we just take a moment to look closer. Ever since I lost a very close friend I have been using photography as a way first and foremost to remind myself that we often spend way too much time trying to broaden our view, to widen our 'big picture' when often the bigger picture is just distracting us from being able to see the beauty right here, right now. And secondly, to remind myself that there are times that we can and do let ourselves in the countless, pointless details to allow ourselves to step back and see the broader scope. Kind of counter-intuitive I guess, to believe both these things and yet that has brought me through so many storms. That and being able to bring beauty into other peoples' lives through my search for it in my life.
