This piece is copyright Casteen O'Neill, 2005.
Blue and black ink. Tiny format (it's matted, and the frame size is only 4x6.)
One of a series of three. Small format original.
Does not look finished to me; why did you stopped filling the skin-details?; looks like a good dragon to me! Keep up the good work :)
Artist Reply: I used the limited detailing at the recommendation of another artist.
The GoH at a convention recommended not doing the hyper-detail scaling that I had been doing, and only filling in the center, or the periphery, to create a less flat effect.
All three pieces are done in a similar style. It was an experiment.
I bet you could really do great work, but for those crappy markers. Stay focus your doing nicly.
Artist Reply: Thanks.
I didn't really consider .005 width micron art pens to be crappy markers.
It might help to know that the original is only about 3" x 5" (paper size), and that my target market is the role-playing game industry (interior art, which is usually more stylized).
