I've always wondered why, if clowns are supposed to make you laugh, why do their eyes always looks so sad and why do they have to paint a smile on which always seems in juxtaposition to their face?
I looked at all of the work that you have in portfolio to date, and thought - they are all very good. How to comment? But this one (and the close-up of the man´s face) are what most spoke to me. This a beautiful piece. thank you for letting us see it.
my dad saw this and he was like...wow that is the kind of clown that'll freak u out, but i like it, i always draw sad clowns...gotta tell u, the happy ones scare me :)
You've captured my attention forever with this masterpiece.I've studied acting for several years and Lon Chaney is one of my biggest inspirations.I've got a book called Faces,Forms,Films-The Artistry of Lon Chaney by Robert G. Anderson.You certainly did justice to his memory with this excellent image.
