1928, 2 happy girls

The girl at the right side just got her driver's license in 1928!! She is my mother in law, 18 years young, with her elder sister (20) in front of their car, an Oldsmobile Model 30 Deluxe Sedan. lol. spoiled ones... The garage where the car was bought is in the zoom image, yes Zeeland. They were the first women with a driver's license here. Seeing the phonenumber of the garage now...and I 'm remembering ours... was 251. (longtimes ago..)

Happy days ! The "life rythem" was starting at that time, just stoped by the War. We may be thankful to everyone that contributed for our present existence ! Nice memories

Ahhhh, Nostalgia! Wonderful! This is inspirational, will have to post one of my mother as a teenager also, standing on "running board" of a vintage auto!

Yes Nelly, I was run down in the street, cycling my bicycle and trying ,without being too close, to keep my eye on a young ladies bottom, becomingly dressed in dark green corduroy shorts and then, bang! I am knocked arse over head onto the lonely pavement, not hurt except in my pleasurable anticipation of an event which was never to be. I never saw that fair rear again and my bike was a write-off. The two women driving the car drove on, laughing. Did your mother in law ever drive in Dublin? Great memory inducing shot Nelly, keep them coming.

Artist Reply: my mother in law was addicted to her polder....protected by dykes....
