Beautiful! As well as interesting and enticing.... I would love to know more about this scenic area.

Artist Reply: Its in an area I go fishing every year with my brother and 7 childhood friends. It is located in the north east corner of the great lakes in a section called Georgian Bay. The French River empties into Georgian Bay and this is that area. Walleye are the fish we go after here. French River also had a logging town in the 1920"s but was abandoned. The population was 3000 at one point. You can still see signs of the old town along the river but 99% of it has reverted back to bush. It is an area that inspired The Group of Seven ....some of Canada's most famous artists. Tom Thompson, A.Y. Jackson, Emily Carr, Arthur Lismer, Charmichael, Varley, being 6 of them. The all painted here...as well as many other places here. My Grandparents owned a cottage in the 60's on the West Arm of Lake Nippising that flows into the French River. This route was integral to the French Voyagers opening up Canada in the 1700's. This was the only route to the West.
