This is an interesting combination of abstraction and "realism." Masks evoke all sorts of connotations. Here, they float through fields of colors. The very red lips, surrounded by blue, look like an alter-ego.
One never knows does one - what pain can be hiding behind a pretty face and a lovely smile.. I think most of us when we were growing up were told to always show our 'best face' to the world out there, and keep our struggles private. It can make one have bad dreams for sure.. or 'loose it' completely! Wonderful painting Nelly. :o)
I cant help wondering Nelly if you have enough room for all these new women in Holland and they seem to be quite crazy, standing on their heads? But I love your colours and all the craziness, keep it going.
Hi Nelly love your new style a lot ......keep up this series ...your work makes me eager to see more and more !!!! Have a great start in the new week :-)
Dreams are blue, if they are the coulor of those special eyes, but any other coulor is always acceptable since we do not wake up... Great acrylic, as usual, Nelly.
