Ruth Glacier on Mt. Mckinley from Small Plane

I took a small plane from Talkeetna to Mt. McKinley. The plane should have landed on a glacier, but the weather was too severe and visibility too low. What I found interesting is that the glacier was not white ice but brown and black ice.

Briskly moves you forward with that feeling of flying free with polished brightness scientifically interesting and adventurously daring.

That is a fantastic shot of the Ice. It is such a massive amount. Not knowing the dark was still ice I thought it showed how the glacier was melting but the close up shows how wrong my perspective was. Thank you for explaining that. Great
