I really like how "still life" is adapt at maintaining a balance of the push-pull effect on several different levels. It's exciting in its still-ness. I love how the yellow jumps forward using impasto, hue contradictions and neutrality in the background. The louvered doors are so, well, like Matisse.. or, like Cezanne's, Mt. St. Victoire.
