Old Panama

Old Panama was attacked, pillaged and burned by the English pirate Henry Morgan. Henry Morgan landed on the Atlantic side of Panama and went by land to Panama City on the Pacific and robbed it of all it's wealth, and left it a ruin. This was one of the cathedrals and this is as it looks today. Panama City of today rebuilt across the bay from this old one.

I Love this image , Sharon ,and the history is sad. the tower looks lonely

Greg Dubois 27 May 2008

I taught art way back in the 1980s at a community college in Anchorage Alaska. The reason I said that is that you and your painting painting radiates more than just photo realism, in fact what I like about a quality that rises above and escapes the critique of PR. It (the tower painting) has a human quality that I look for in all paintings and is a 'thing' that photographs can not equal. Hmmm' I don't know if I conveyed what I was attempting to! In any case this is a very nice work Sharon!
